AT&T has restored img.4chan.org (for me)

July 27, 2009 Flatcher 2 comments

This morning after browsing /b/ for twenty minutes and being brain-dead, I have realized my access to it has been restored. I don’t know if this has been restored to the whole AT&T network though. (South California)

Edit: Blockage is now lifted globally!!! http://status.4chan.org/ for more info
Hooray

AT&T, now blocking img.4chan.org (/b/ and /r9k/)

Apparently AT&T has now blocked the url img.4chan.org throughout it’s service. This means /b/ and /r9k/ are now inaccessible under AT&T’s internet service. It’s nice to see that AT&T have such good customer support. I am under a sneaking suspension  that they may indeed be using child labour to man their customer support chat. It’s nice to see an ISP “caring” for it’s customers with a child’s touch, and stating that they don’t “blcok” websites.

I spoke to AT&T customer chat and here is what I got:

System Welcome Flatcher Steam.

You: I thought this was an ISP issue, not a site issue?
Ethan: No,please contact 4 Chan technical department.
You: I’ve already contacted the 4chan administrators, and they stated that my ISP is blocking my connection, not them.
Ethan: Based on our experience, this issue is best resolved when working together with one of our support agents over a telephone line because it requires multiple troubleshooting steps. Please call us at 1-877-722-3755 for Tier-2. We look forward to speaking with you to resolve this issue.
You: OK
You: I need to go now
Ethan: Okay
Ethan: Bye!

Apparently they think it is 4chan’s fault that this interruption of service is linked to them, and not theirs.

Fuck off AT&T

I am a AT&T customer, so, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU-
